Hanging out with Ernie Harwell

William Earnest "Ernie" Harwell is a former American sportscaster, known for his long career calling play-by-play of Major League Baseball games. For 55 years, 42 of them with the Detroit Tigers, Harwell called balls, strikes, and home runs on radio and television.

I remember just like it was yesterday sitting in the dining room at the table or in the living room on the floor at my Grandmothers house listening to Ernie Harwell voice of the Detroit Tigers. He could paint the picture so well with words as if you were seeing the game being played live. We were so fortunate to have such a wonderful broadcaster such as Ernie Harwell.
