1/24 Marines Alpha Battalion "WELCOME HOME"

On Sunday, about 1,100 members of the 1st Battalion 24th Marine Reserves made it back home across Michigan, including 150 members of the Grand Rapids Marine Reserves company who came to the DeltaPlex ceremony.

They returned from their Iraqi outpost in the volatile Anbar province, where fighting killed 22 Marines from this battalion.

Police closed off highway exits as the Marine buses made their way from Gerald R. Ford International Airport, passing businesses with marquees thanking Alpha Company and led by a line of motorcycles that stretched an estimated seven miles.

This upcoming Sunday Morning our Church Green Meadow Bible Baptist Church will be welcoming home one of our Members * MAJOR DAN WHISNANT*. We will be hearing Major Whisnant speak during both the Sunday School hour and Morning Service. We will also be having a special dinner afterwards in honor for Major Whisnant. I am so looking forward to hear what Major Dan Whisnant has to bring to us in message. We live in a great nation and have great freedom thanks to our 1/24 Alpha Marines who was lead by Major Dan Whisnant. We also need to be thankful for all the other branches of military who have served in IRAQ and continue to serve in all areas of the world. We must never forget those who have fallen also... God Bless America and God Bless our Service Men and Women!

Letter from Dr. Chuck Phelps

Here is an initial letter to the Faculty/Staff at Maranatha by Dr Phelps:

Dear Friends:

Times of transition are times of trauma. All of us should be encouraged by the kindness of the Lord displayed in John 14. Knowing that their “hearts were troubled,” he bequeathed peace to them. He did not remove the transition or the trouble that it would bring, but He gave them the wonderful gift of His unfailing peace to guide them through a perplexing time.

Having met with Maranatha’s Board and Administrative Cabinet and having spoken to men and women who have dedicated their lives to the work of the Lord at Maranatha, I have become convinced that the Lord has been ministering peace to the students, staff and constituents of Maranatha through you, His servants. You are to be commended for your dedication, commitment to the work of the Lord and professionalism during what has, no doubt, been a time of confusing transition.

Over the past several weeks, I have had the privilege of communicating openly and often with Dr. Oats. While I realize that it may be his responsibility to read this to you today, and I recognize the humility with which he conducts himself as your servant may cause him some discomfort in relaying the next few lines, allow me to say that I would be remiss if I did not state openly my admiration and appreciation for the good work that the Lord has accomplished through him this year. I am confident that you will join me in thanking the Lord for the stability, competence, character and convictions that Dr. Oats models before you, the student body and those who love and care about the College.

Very soon an official announcement will be made that I will be coming to serve with you as the president of Maranatha Baptist Bible College. I will be introduced to you and the students on Tuesday, May 1, at chapel. Our time then will be quite limited, but I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible and laboring among you soon.

Some of you will be asking why I would leave a fruitful pastoral ministry to join you in Watertown. We are coming because we identify with the heritage of Maranatha Baptist Bible College. As a fundamental, dispensational, Baptist who appreciates the value of passionate ministry presented in a balanced, conservative way, I know I will be at home at Maranatha. As a pastor and a dad, I am well aware of the importance a Bible College Education plays in molding leadership for local church ministry. The Lord has convinced me that Maranatha is uniquely positioned to accomplish a great work in these last days. While leaving pastoral ministry will be traumatic for me and my family, I am convinced of the need to be a II Timothy 2:2 servant and to commit the truths of God’s Word to another generation of Christian servants. I do not want to coast in Ministry.

I want to be fully used and fully yielded to God’s work in and through my life. Maranatha Baptist Bible College will be a stretching place for me and, while it has been a difficult decision to accept the invitation of the board, through prayer, counsel, and the ministry of God’s Word, I have become convinced that it is the place for me. Please pray for me and for my family as we sever deep ties with our dear flock here in New England and seek wisdom for the work of God with you there.

Please know that my prayers are with you as you finish this School year. I trust you will join me in expressing your appreciation to the Board of Trustees and the Administrative Cabinet for the way they have labored to bring God’s blessing and best to a place they obviously love. God has assembled an impressive group of people to guide Maranatha, and I am humbled to associate with them and with you.

In His Service,
Charles R. Phelps

Maranatha Baptist Bible College (NEW PRESIDENT)

The Board of Trustees at Maranatha Baptist Bible College is pleased to announce that Dr. Chuck Phelps accepted the presidency. Dr. Phelps will be on campus Tuesday, May 1, to speak in chapel. His inauguration is planned for September 7, 2007.

Dr. Phelps' Burden for Maranatha

My burden is related in II Timothy 2:2 where God's servants are given His mandate to pass along His truth to another generation of ministers. I believe that Maranatha Baptist Bible College has been given an opportunity of God to impact local church servants around the world and it will be an honor to participate with parents, pastors and committed Christian servants in that effort. I am looking forward to sending out servants to impact their individual Jerusalems for the Savior.

About Dr. Phelps

Dr. Phelps comes to Maranatha from Trinity Baptist Church in Concord, New Hampshire, where he has served as the senior pastor since 1989. He graduated from Bob Jones University, earned a Master of Divinity degree from Central Baptist Seminary in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and completed his Doctorate of Ministry degree at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. Dr. Phelps and his wife, Linda, were married in 1980 and have five children: Rachel, Sharon, Chad, Caleb, and Daniel.

Currently, Dr. Phelps serves on several boards, including Baptist World Mission, and teaches as an adjunct professor at numerous colleges and seminaries. He speaks at conferences, youth retreats, on college campuses and on the mission field. A second-generation Christian, Pastor Phelps’ passion is the expository preaching of God’s Word and the discipleship of believers. To foster ongoing spiritual growth, he authored Footsteps of Faith, a manual for local church discipleship. He preaches that every believer needs to be serving the Lord and has overseen a local church that exhibits unusual dedication to Christian service; Trinity Baptist Church has sent out hundreds of students to Christian college and scores into ministry.

Tai Kwondo

Today we went to watch one of my teenagers in my youth group compete in her first Tai Kwondo Karate Tournament. Brittney Watson did a great job as she placed 1st in her Forms challenge which is when she just goes through the motions of Kicking and Punching and they score her on how crisp her moves are and how smooth she preforms with no errors. She then competed in full contact sparring winning her 1st match 7-o with some pretty deadly blows to her opponent with her feet. I was extremely impressed with her performance as she took 1st place in the fighting competition too. My wife and I also really enjoyed watching the older men compete in the fighting competition. There were many black belts at the tournament ranging from 1st degree black belt thru 6th degree black belts. We had a great time and look forward to watching another tournament again in the future. Good Luck Brittney as you compete in "STATE" in Mt Pleasant, MI.

ChopSticks

Tonight we stepped out for a bit and got a bite to eat at the Chinese Buffet on West-Main St. The food was very good and the price was more than reasonable. Bryce had fun trying new foods but, most of all he was getting a kick out of mastering the technique of using ChopSticks. As you can see in the photo above he came up with his own creative way of using ChopSticks. We had a good time and I think we had more food than what our belly could handle.

TIME FOR PLAY-OFFS

The time of year has come for play-offs. I really like this time of year because, the Detroit Redwings are playing in the 2nd round of the NHL Playoffs against the San Jose Sharks. The Redwings always bring some high impact and fast pace hockey.... What do you expect of HOCKEYTOWN USA?

Then you have our very own Detroit Pistons who the past few years have been a top notch contender in the NBA. The Pistons are playing the Orlando Magic in the NBA playoffs. Although I don't think we will ever see a team as good as the Bad Boys back in the 80's era this year team has a well rounded team of players..... They are very dominant and know how to score.

Lastly we have our very own local hometown Kalamazoo Wings who blazed by the Flint Generals in the first round. Kalamazoo Wings start the next series tomorrow against the Muskegon Fury in the best of seven series. Kalamazoo Wings have been a real contender in the UHL and look to bring back home the Turner Cup. Stayed tuned here and I will keep you posted on how each of these teams above pan out in their individual sports playoffs.

Keep Pressing On ! ! !

+

=

This has not been a good month for me........ I am not going to go into details about the trials and tribulations I have been facing but, today I believe was the icing on the cake. It seems no-matter what good I do or how many steps forward I take I still get kicked back on my tail. This morning I woke up early and went to a mens prayer meeting at the Colonial Kitchen @ 6:30am. I had a great time and met a few new friends and had great fellowship with fellow believers. I thought..... Neat..... this is a great way to start my week... New and Refreshed ! ! ! I got back home at about 8 a.m. and decided to mow my lawn. I was all finished when I decided to push on a little further and mow some of my neighbors lawn to help him out. Well I was making that last path in the front lawn that connects my yard to his when I Pebble shot out from underneath my mower and hit his driver side window shattering it to pieces. I felt so bad and went and told my neighbor what actually happened. He was very apologetic and realized accidents do happen. It just goes to show that when things are going good and man/woman are trying to do the right thing and live a godly life and even go the extra mile..... BEWARE..... SATAN is always waiting to knock you down. I am not going to let this incident get the best of me and ruin my week like SATAN would love to see happen. I am going to keep pushing on and Live for Christ!

WHAT A "CROC" ! ! !

A Swedish hospital wants to ban its staff from wearing Crocs plastic clogs, saying they generate static electricity that can knock out medical equipment, a spokesman said Thursday.

Blekinge hospital in southern Sweden suspects the slip-on shoes made by U.S.-based Crocs Inc. are to blame for at least three incidents in which respirators and other machines malfunctioned. The mishaps caused no injuries.

Hospital spokesman Bjorn Lofqvist said there were similar problems with other shoes not designed for hospital use, but the popularity of the Crocs had raised the issue to a new level.

"It's been a problem for many years, but now there are so many people that have them," he said, adding officials were discussing whether the sandals should be banned throughout the hospital or just in certain sections.

Messages left for Crocs officials after business hours were not immediately returned.

New Phones!!!!

This past week the wife and I decided to buckle down and do some reconfiguring in our home. We started by down grading our phone plan and saving nearly $47.00 a month. Believe it or not we each got new phones with the deal at no cost. Tamara's phone is the Red Phone which is very similar to her previous phone. I got the Blue phone which also has a built in camera which I really like. I have already learned how to take pictures and download it to my computer. After we were done with our phone plans we decided to down grade our cable to basic and go with a lower internet speed. This was a huge decision for us and again we are going to save nearly $50.00 a month. Hopefully this is the first step for us moving forward and being better stewards with our money. God has been so good to us the past 8 years and always met our every need. Now it is time for us to be more resourceful with what he has given us.

Cousin's Tasty Chicken

Yesterday evening our friend Christi took us to her family eatery "Cousin's Tasty Chicken" located up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. If anyone knows me well it is known that I "LOVE" Chicken. One of my favorite places to eat chicken is Chicken Coop until now. I found a new place for a great chicken dinner but, it comes with a little drive. Cousin's Tasty Chicken used to be owned my Chicken Coop but, our friend Christi's Family bought this location from Chicken Coop and changed the name to Cousin's Tasty Chicken and gave it their own flavor and love. I thought from the Chicken to the Cole-Slaw this place was hands down better than Chicken Coop. They have Chicken, Fish, Fries, Cole-Slaw, Hush Puppies, Mozzarella Cheese Sticks, and much much more. So if you are ever in the neighborhood or want to take a nice family drive to Grand Rapids, MI I highly recommend Cousin's Tasty Chicken...... Two Thumbs Up!

8 catastrophes we should be worried about (continued)

Catastrophe No. 5 – Profanity and pop culture

I find it fascinating that the black community gets up-in-arms over a popular comedian's use of the six-letter "N-word" (when many in their own communities use it all the time), and the liberal gay community gets so indignant over Ann Coulter's use of the six-letter "F-word," but no one seems to care that the four-letter "F-word" is used in nearly every sentence by certain high school students, is used regularly by Hollywood celebrities in movies and comedy skits, is blasted over the radio in many popular songs, and even appears in many of the articles in the upscale New Yorker magazine. I don't ever use this word. It's a vulgarism that merely indicates one's vocabulary, upbringing and education have really been lousy. Is our tolerating its use a sign of an "enlightened" civilization, or of a "depraved" one? You choose. And how have we arrived at the current situation where pop-culture elevates all that's "bad" and denigrates all that's "good." Might this be another catastrophe worth worrying about?

Catastrophe No. 6 – The pitiful education Americans receive

I know it's funny when Jay Leno does his "Jaywalking" man-on-the-street interviews, and when Sean Hannity sends Flipper out to interview young people to expose how little they know about what's really going on the world, but then again it's really not all that funny, is it? America's youth are getting a pitiful education – from elementary school all the way through college. And it's not because there aren't thousands of great teachers trying to make it work. It's because many students put in zero effort, have parents who defend their "slacker" behavior (and who are quick to criticize the school but slow to criticize their own children), and that the curriculum is so laden-down with politically correct side-issues that the education students got in Thomas Jefferson's day was much more robust than what they get today.

Frankly, it's pitiful that so many young people aren't learning how to read (or to love reading) or how to write, including the basics of good grammar and communication skills so important to getting a good job and living a productive and happy life. And the caliber of history education – both American and world history – is so poor that more than half of all Americans really don't know that America was the world's first true democracy and is still the "Beacon of Freedom and Hope" for oppressed people all around the world. Rather, they're often being taught that we're the cause of all of the world's problems (such as global warming, for example), and that socialist, communist and totalitarian regimes have just as much legitimacy and credibility as does the West. How totally absurd! (And we'll have to save it for another column to discuss the quality of education as it relates to science, math, basic economic principles, finance, job-skills training, etc.)

Catastrophe No. 7 – The America-haters in the news media and Hollywood

Before the hippie "Sex Revolution" of The Vietnam War era, it used to be that our newspaper and TV reporters were proud Americans, who felt it their duty to report on the horrors our enemies were inflicting upon poor, innocent victims around the world. But consider what's happened since. Now, our mainstream news media see the enemies of America as being on an equal plane with us (except for those nations the press considers superior to us). The Bill of Rights ensures that we have a "free press," but what the founders thought that meant is a far cry from what the current media think. The founders meant that the "press" would be "free" from government control. But the media see it as giving them the "freedom" to side with our enemies (whose media, I remind you, are government controlled).

Rather than being objective between the opposing political parties in the U.S., our media think it's their role to be objective critics – not between opposing political parties within America, but between us and our enemies outside of the country. This anti-Americanism is preposterous, and it's a topic Rush Limbaugh reiterates over and over again (thank goodness). But it's what gives the media the freedom to criticize our "treatment" of POWs at Guantanamo Bay, while not criticizing the "treatment" (murder) of suicide bombing victims by Islamo-fascists in Iraq. In this way, our own mainstream media are actually complicit in the "defeat" it hopes America will receive. And, unfortunately, we have a passive electorate that just believes whatever the media claim and seems to have an inability to ever make a judgment between right and wrong – which, of course, opens the door for the "bad guys" to win.

Catastrophe No. 8 – Liberal Democrats who seem incapable of recognizing 'good' from 'evil'

And speaking of "bad guys," why is it that Democrats seem so incapable of recognizing a "bad guy" when confronted with one? When a thug gets hurt in the process of committing a crime, somehow it's the police's fault. When a pedophile sexually abuses young boys at Scout camp, somehow it's the BSA's fault for not permitting gay scoutmasters. When parents complain about foul language in school library books, somehow it's the parents who are wrong for wanting to "censor" the school's "right" to put foul-language books in their taxpayer-funded libraries. Somehow Christians – who espouse "love thy neighbor" and "being kind and generous to those in need" – are the dangerous religious zealots, while the Islamo-fascists – who espouse killing all Jews and non-Muslims – are considered members of the religion of "peace." Democrats seem to feel that if we would just treat our enemies "nicer" – and listen to their legitimate grievances – they would stop hating us. Try this approach on any bully you know and he'll just laugh hilariously, while he continues to beat you to a pulp. What an embarrassingly naïve Neville Chamberlain approach. Perhaps the catastrophe of not recognizing who the bad guys really are will bring the world to an end sooner than the time frame projected for global warming. Which catastrophe do you think is the more imminently dangerous?

So there you have it: Eight catastrophes that we really should be worried about. And if you wonder where "global warming" comes in on my list, it's just below "slow drivers in the fast lane"!

8 catastrophes we should be worried about

There sure is a lot of talk about how "global warming" is about to destroy the planet! And how, if we don't stop driving our SUVs – and go back to living by candlelight – we'll all be dead within the next 20 years. (Just ask your children; that's what they probably already believe.)

But I'd like to propose that there are much worse catastrophes we really should be worried about. Here is my list of the Top 8 Catastrophes: I will give the first 4 to you tonight and then stayed tuned and I will give you the next 4 tomorrow night. Think about you read there is so much truth to these matters. And feel free to comment if you want.

Catastrophe No. 1 – Parents who abdicate their responsibilities

It's stunning to me how few children ever do their homework. What are parents thinking? Don't they know that doing your homework and getting good grades is a valid indicator of future success and happiness? Why do so many parents allow their children to watch so much TV, dress like thugs, disrespect their teachers (and the parents, themselves) and swear so vulgarly? And why do they drive them all over town to play multiple sports … when most haven't read a single book in the past year? No TV during the week; sit-down meals at home with Mom and Dad to discuss what's going on in each other's lives; more focus on reading, homework and family than on TV, sports, and the Internet; a little "leadership" to keep children away from bad influences and the wrong crowd would all do wonders to help reverse this national catastrophe.

Catastrophe No. 2 – No 'at-home' moms and no dads at all

I know it's old-fashioned (and home prices really are so outrageously high that you just have to have both parents working) but the sad truth is that ever since moms went back to work, families have gone to the wayside. (Yet, I don't have much room to talk because, my wife works full-time.) And it's "families" that keep every civilization functioning smoothly. Research has proven that children in "families" get better grades, have higher graduation rates, drink less alcohol, go to college more, get in trouble less and so on. And where crime is out-of-control it's usually where there are no dads, just lots of moms getting pregnant out-of-wedlock. And all of the attempts to "re-define the family" as one with two moms or two dads, or with parents who aren't married to each other, is just a feeble attempt to bring credibility to relationships that do not generate the societal advantages of traditional families. Is this a catastrophe? Indeed! And it's way more important than global warming!

Catastrophe No. 3 – Pornography, free sex and pedophilia

Just think about it for a minute … if sex were totally free and readily available, why would men ever choose to get married? This is just one of the many reasons why all major civilizations have always frowned upon promiscuous sex and have taught the next generation that the happiest, most honorable and best place for sex is between a man and a woman who love each other, get married and raise their own children – together – as part of a real family. Families keep civilizations together, and sex keeps husbands in families. Once sex became easily available – in magazines, in movies, on videos, over the phone, in men's rooms, at school – and women just went along with it because no one taught them that it was wrong to have sex outside of marriage – then the compelling "draw" for men to want to get married was gone. This is too bad. Just think of all the heartbreak this catastrophe has caused. (And we can all remember how disgusting it was to have some older person make sexual advances toward us when we were younger. There's a reason we felt that way. It wasn't just a different "sexual orientation"; it was wrong.)

Catastrophe No. 4 – Crime and drug use

Probably half of all local TV news is about crime in our cities and neighborhoods. How can this be? And how can we be so blasé in shrugging our shoulders at this tsunami of criminal behavior? There are reasons why crime is so prevalent. Young men are being raised by unwed working (or welfare) moms (or grandmas) who are unable to exert any control over them. They flunk out of school; they get caught up in the drug and youth gang worlds; they have to steal to buy drugs; they have to use guns to defend themselves from other thugs; and (if we're lucky) they wind up in prison, where they just hang-out with even more hardened criminals. Is this a catastrophe that's perhaps more urgent than global warming? Ask the victims of these criminals. They'll tell you which is more important.

HAPPY EASTER

Happy Easter to all my Family and Friends. This morning we woke up @ 7:30 to let Bryce see his Easter Basket and look for the Eggs that he colored last night with his Mom. Bryce had a fun time coloring his eggs and placing Dinosaur stickers on the eggs that "actually" made the eggs look like Dinosaur's were being hatched from them. His easter basket had lots of candy, the last Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle that Walmart had on the shelf , Hotwheel cars, and some other odds and ends that Tamara thought Bryce might like. We are wishing you all a happy and blessed day. Most importantly don't forget the real reason we celebrate Easter. God sent his son Jesus to Die on the Cross for our sins, then he was buried and 3 days later Up from the Grave He Arose......... Why? John 3:16 tells us: "For God So Loved The World That He Gave His Only Begotten Son, That Whosoever Believeth In Him Shall Not Perish But, Have Everlasting Life."

Easter Egg Hunt @ (Grandpa and Grandma Gregersen's)

Well here it is April 7, 2007 and we were at the Gregersen's Annual Easter Egg Hunt in Scotts, MI and there was snow on the ground. Yes, I said snow but, that didn't stop approximately 12 youngsters and their parents from prowling around the yard looking for hidden Easter Eggs. The kids enjoy looking for the multicolored eggs filled with candy. Once all the Eggs are found they are put in one basket and a couple of the adults divide the candy evenly for each family to take home. If my memory serves me correctly Bryce probably still has Easter Candy from last year...... oh wait that could be Halloween Candy ! ! It is always nice to fellowship with our friends and feast on Grandma Gregersen's Homemade Pizza ! !

Racism at its Best

The following scene took place on a BA flight between Johannesburg and London. This is a true story. A White woman, about 50 years old, was seated next to a Black man. Obviously disturbed by this, she called the air Hostess. "Madam, what is the matter," the Hostess asked. ”You obviously do not see it then?" she responded. "You placed me next to a Black man. I do not agree to sit next to someone from such a repugnant group. Give me an alternative seat." "Be calm please, " the Hostess replied. "Almost all the places on this flight are taken. I will go to see if another seat is available." The Hostess went away and then came back a few minutes later. "Madam, just as I thought, there are no other available seats in the Economy class. I spoke to the Captain and he informed me that there is also no seats in the Business class. All the same, we still have one seat in the First class." Before the woman could say anything, the Hostess continued: "It is not usual for our company to permit someone from the Economy class to sit in the First class. However, given the circumstances, the Captain feels that it would be scandalous to make someone sit next to someone so disgusting." She turned to the Black guy, and said, "Therefore, Sir, if you would like to, please collect your hand luggage, a seat awaits you in First class." At that moment, the other passengers who were shocked by what they had just witnessed stood up and applauded.

PLANE CRASH

An airplane was about to crash. There were 5 passengers on board, but only 4 parachutes.

The 1st passenger said, "I am Kobe Bryant, the best NBA
basketball player. The Lakers need me, and I can't afford to die." So he took the 1st pack and left the plane.

The 2nd passenger, Hillary Clinton said, "I am the wife of a former U.S. President, a NY State Senator and a potential future president.
And I am the smartest woman in American history, so America 's
people don't want me to die." She took the 2nd pack and jumped out of the plane.

The 3rd passenger, Ted Kennedy said I am a US Senator, the
democratic party needs me and my liver still has some good years left. So he grabbed the pack next to him and jumped.

The 4th passenger, Billy Graham, said to the 5th passenger, a 10
year old schoolgirl, "I am old and frail and don't have many years
left, and as a Christian I will sacrifice my life and let you have the last parachute."

The girl said, "That's okay. There's a parachute left for you.
America's smartest woman took my school bag."

HE IS RISEN !

This weekend we are heading into a celebration of what we call Easter! There will be lots and lots of coloring of eggs, Easter baskets, Easter Egg Hunts, Candy, pastel colors ect....ect.... Do you know what we really should be celebrating on this weekend? This is a time to reflect upon the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus came to earth and lived as a man for 33 years before he was crucified on the Cross for the Sins of every man. He Died on the Cross for your Sins and my Sins. He was buried in the tomb and rose again 3 days later just like he Promised. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Do you believe that God sent his only begotten son Jesus Christ to this earth to die on the Cross for the Sins of every man and woman? Do you believe that Christ was Crucified, Buried and Rose again just as he Promised? Have you ever called upon the name of the Lord to be Saved and repented of your Sins? What better time than this Easter Weekend! For behold NOW IS THE TIME FOR SALVATION!

Beautiful Wife

The picture above is my "Beautiful Wife" sporting her new dress that she got as a Easter/Mother's Day gift. I think she looks to Beautiful in this dress. I have to admit my wife is always Beautiful.

Michigan Weather

You look outside here at my home on this evening of April 4th, 2007 and you would think that Christmas was just lurking around the corner. Yesterday it was 60 degrees out and beautiful weather (SUN SHINING). Then today it was flurries and wind with the temperature below 30 degrees and an accumulation of at least 1 inch of snow. This is true genuine Michigan weather for you folks ! !

BASEBALL IS HERE ! ! !

Well the Major League Baseball season 2007 has officially started..... Now you can officially say SPRING is here. I am rooting them Detroit Tigers on because, I know that is just what my Grandma Veld would do. After the season they had last year and with the new players and the returning players from last year the Tigers look like a very promising team again this year. Wouldn't it be great to see them make the play-offs again and hopefully get a shot at the World Series for the 2nd year in a row. GO DETROIT.

Isn't He Handsome?

This are two recent pictures taken of Bryce. The picture with the Pink Shirt and Vest was an outfit we purchased for him at The Burlington Coat Factory for a really reasonable price. The Picture in the Blue and Yellow outfit is his Easter Clothes that Grandma Cooper purchased for him while we were up in Traverse City spending some quality time together.... I can't believe he is growing up so fast. It really seems like just a short time ago I was changing his diapers and feeding him a bottle. My how time travels..... now he is going to be starting Kindergarten soon and then Junior High... then High School..... Time needs to SLOW DOWN ! !

Friends Forever

Here is an updated photo of Bryce and his friend Kendell. This weekend Kendell spent the night with us and then went to Church with us. Bryce and Kendell really act more like Brothers than friends. They are a perfect fit for each other and I think really compliment each other. It is just fun to watch these to smart and mostly Handsome young guys grow up. Lord Willing they will be Friends Forever ! !

Guess Who???

Can you guess who the picture above is? Well is your answer Bob Keeshan? Do you even know who Bob Keeshan is? Well if you guessed Bob Keeshan you are absolutely incorrect! Oh by the way Bob Keeshan is formerly known as Captain Kangaroo. That was just a tad bit of Trivia for you! The photo is actually my first real photograph taken. It was taken approximately 3-5 weeks after I was born. I decided to post this picture because, while at my parents house this weekend we had a little fun as My Mother did something with this photo that I will give her a hard time about each and every time I see her. Let's just say I am glad she has a conscience. Thanks Mom for your honesty and I would never really hold any ill feelings for what you did... I find it kind of humorous and it will be something I can give you a hard time about for many years to come. In all honesty I am loving the Yellow outfit..... Yellow really is my color. I LOVE YOU MOM ! ! !

Announcement

Just wanted to let you all know that I have thought long and hard about what I am about to share with you all. I have decided to bring this Blog site to an END. It takes a lot of hard work and time to keep this site up and running. I am really sad to see it go but, I feel rather than waiting any longer now is the best time. I am going to miss sharing my thoughts, and pictures with you all. I am really sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you. I have enjoyed reading each and everyone of your comments and thoughts that come my way. You have been really uplifting and your encouragements have been overwhelming. Although we know the old saying..... All Good Things Must Come To An End Sometime ! Well As I sign off with my final words for this Blog.....Just remember what todays date is ! ! ! GOTCHA ! ! See Ya tomorrow ! !
