Michigan Wins ! ! !

{From left, U-M's Brandon Graham, Brandon Minor and Adam Patterson celebrate with the Little Brown Jug, the first time the freshmen held the trophy, after their win.}

There was no mad dash, nothing of the sort for the University of Michigan football team.

When the battle for the Little Brown Jug ended, the Wolverines locked arms, then walked across the field to take possession of the old trophy they consider their own.

As the jug sat alone on a folding table on the Minnesota sideline, the Michigan players approached respectfully before senior defensive end LaMarr Woodley finally grabbed the trophy, holding it up as the team and their small contingent of fans in the Metrodome celebrated. Calmly.

"The bottom line is we lost the jug, and we got our jug back,'' Michigan senior offensive tackle Reuben Riley said.

No. 6 Michigan (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) took back its prize after a year's absence by picking apart the Minnesota defense, then withstanding some tense moments late. But the final score, 28-14, kept the Wolverines unbeaten as they avenged the third loss from last year in as many weeks.
